In which I foil a dastardly plan...

Well I reached a milestone of sorts as a teacher;

I've survived my first death threat )

No one expects the Spanish Inquistion! /MP

Wow, badgirl, that is majorly messed up. I'm glad that other students had the courage to stand up and let you know what they heard, and I'm relieved to know that guilty admitted it and appeared remorseful. You may have some messed up students, but at least they aren't sociopaths ::trys to look for ANYTHING positive::

It is messed up and in LJ mode it probably sounds worse than it is...I know all the kids involved and would be highly surprised if they had actually followed through with anything.

They're all hat, no cattle.

Yes, that is a good thing. Kids that age so very rarely go against their peers.

As for me, I find the whole thing pretty darn funny now.

Your first death threat! Congratulations! I don't know if you can really be considered a true teacher without one. ;)

It's one of those things that is sort of funny, but not. Having received one myself (which did actually result in arrest and expulsion of the student - first time our school ever expelled someone) I can definitely empathize!

Feel free to IM me anytime (I'm just Maisfeeka on AIM). I found that at the wierdest times I'd just suddenly get freaked out about it and need to talk to someone, so I'm more than glad to return the favor!

I don't know whether to laugh or cry about that...

EEEEMIGOD! Yours sounds *way* more serious than mine. ::huggles you:: Holy crap!

And I appreciate the offer! You're right, it's the odd times when you're a teacher that you get all "estressada" and need to vent with others who can understand what you're going through. Thanks Mai ::huggles you again just because::

Thanks for all the huggles! :) It was a pretty scary time and I took it a lot harder than I would have thought. Luckily I have good friends and family around. :) Now it's more one of those weirdly amusing in a not-so-funny-way kind of things.

Anyway, hope you're doing well and that you are having a lovely holiday!

Wow. That's a little bit terrifying. Thank goodness for those kids who were conscientious enough to come forward.

Makes the action packed life of an intrepid reporter seem rather dull by comparison doesn't it? I'll bet Woodward and Bernstein never had to deal with this....

Actually I kid, I don't *think* I was ever in any real danger. Mostly it was kids shooting off their mouths. Still...::dons latex gloves:: better safe than sorry.

Gah! I have the same kind of allergy to bananas, so I know exactly what you mean. I'd shake my head in disbelief at "kids these days"... but I totally, completely believe they'd do something like that. Little crapweasels. I'm so glad a few of your students brought it to your attention, and that everything's okay now!

Yeah...kids *these* days as a phrase has lost all meaning for me. Compared to what? Rabid dogs? The moral center of the Western world is just a big sucking vacuum. And may I just say that crapweasels is my new favorite word!

And booyah to the students with moral fibre at least there was a few at any rate.

::hugs you back:: Well actually....I kinda am in retrospect.

This story will *kill* at dinner parties.

But the whole willingness to kill a (hopefully) beloved authority figure...yeah that sucks major ass.
