Amusing discoveries with google ngrams
I was playing with google ngrams (http://ngrams.googlelabs.com/) and found a few interesting bits.

Which mobile computer/phones/PDA to get next (Noka N900 or Motorola Droid)
My current mobile platform is aging rapidly and is in need of being replaced by something more modern. Right now I carry around both a Nokia E51 phone and a Nokia N900 internet tablet on T-Mobile. This is too much to carry, and neither is a perfect platform ( Read more... ) -
scallops, gazpatcho, tv, and other random topics
The seafood at Dave's Fresh Pasta is amazing... I highly recommend that peeople try it. (They get it on Thursday and usually still have some on Fri or Sat or in the freezer). RCN vs Comcast
I'm silly. After switching to RCN last week (as they are cheaper than Comcast, Comcast was raising their rates, and on paper the RCN internet speeds may have been faster), I'm now starting to wonder if I should switch back to Comcast. The RCN folks seem perfectly reachable and friendly, but they don't seem to be as technically advanced as Comcast ( Read more... ) -

One of my household projects the past few weeks has been to profile my home power usage with the goal of seeing where I can reduce it with small investments of time and money. The $20 Kill-a-Watt tool has been invaluable in this exercise. So far, I've managed to reduce my estimated power usage by around 10% ($190/year) with another 3% of quick- ( Read more... ) -

photos from camping at Crawford Notch in New Hampshire
A few weeks ago, ksushis and I went camping up in New Hampshire. We stayed at the Crawford Notch Campground, and it was both beautiful as well as uncrowded, at the time.
