It's my wedding day and it's raining...and will likely continue to rain...so the beautiful gazebo that we are all set to use and all the work we've done outside is for naught. Boo

The belief is that rain on your wedding day gets all of the tears out of the way so that your life together will be blessed with joy.

Rain is good luck!! I know it's a bummer but it's supposedly a very good omen! One of my coven-sisters had a thunderstorm and total downpour in the morning.

My sister said the same thing about good luck. On my wedding day it rained sheets in Charleston at summer solstice and when I say sheets, it was more like a roll of fabric - with no spaces of air in between, just falling and falling and falling. It was like walking through the bottom of a pool. That line from an Alanis Morrisette song was ringing in my head all day 'like rain on your wedding day'. In retrospect I look at it as representing being able to weather the hardest times together. And when I hear that whiny line it brings back happy memories.

When I think of rain I think of being cuddled up with my sweetie, hearing the thunder that invigorates me and candles all over our room...so romantic. It isn't about the weather its about , integrity, honouring and vowing to your love.
