Do You Believe That Asexuality Exists?

I was reading an article in the San Francisco Chronicle today about asexuality. There is a growing movement of people who believe that they are asexual. They say that they have no sexual desire. However, they do have platonic relationships that involve affection and love. They just don't feel any need to have sex.

if they say they are asexual, it may be the case and i dont care or mind.

if it s an attention seeking thing, they dont harm anyone but themselves. but again i dont care or mind

I hear you. The first paragraph applies to me too, except I wouldn't say "hardly." It's not "never," cuz I did have sex with my one boyfriend, but I'm closing in on four years of nothing, and I'm kinda apathetic about the whole thing.

Some asexuals believe that sex drive is separate from sexual desire. Some asexuals do masturbate. They believe that they have no sexual desire for other people, but they feel that they have a sex drive that makes them want to masturbate. These asexuals have no desire to have sex with other people.

There are other asexuals who do not masturbate or have sex and are totally not interested in sexual pleasure. Also there are some asexuals who say they have no desire for sex, but do it with their sexual partners just to please them.
