no, Try channels 1, 6, and 11. If one that it's set to by defuat is over loaded (other people using it) i could cause problems.

Just went through that whole rigamarole again and changed the channel. It still won't connect, and claims that range is the problem.

There are many people about who would be better suited to fixing this than I, and I'm just stupid enough about this that I don't have the patience to explain the whole thing to you across LJ. Wish you were here!

I'd suspect signal polarization (you're probably too young to remember adjusting rabbit ears) or interference than signal loss due to distance.

If it is a connect problem, then it could be a mistyped WEP or WPA encryption key, an outdated driver, or simply a networking problem.

Do you get your Internet connection through your cable company?

The reason I ask is, a few weeks ago, we started having problems with our connection and wireless network disappearing. We thought it was the modem, but when the cable guy came by, he said an outside line wasn't delivering signal properly to us. He fixed it and everything returned to normal.
