Hoooooooooly shit. I'd offer you to stay here for a couple of days if I didn't live so far from you. How scary.

Thanks! I appreciate the thought. I've got a guy friend who will stay over if I need him to tonight, so no worries. ;)

I'm seriously impressed: You have "materialize helicopter" powers. You rock.

Hehe, yeah. I was happy about that. I obviously rolled successfully. I am somewhat concerned that the SD PD keeps a helicopter on hand in the skies above my neighborhood though.

Ugh! Scary! I'm glad the landlady responded to your request for bars.

Yeah, I totally support the bearing of arms. It might be a good idea for me soon, all things considered.

chorale and I asked a friend, years ago, his advice on firearms for home security. He recommended a shotgun, on the ground that the noise of its being cocked was loud and distinctive, it took very little skill to use, and your average intruder would recognize it and be gone before you could open the door. I haven't actually tried the experiment, but then we haven't had an intruder since we moved to Normal Heights.

Yeah, an old roommate of mine kept an unloaded shotgun under her bed for that reason.

That is completely horrifying and freaky. You're braver than I am, for sure!

Jesus Christ, that's disturbing. I don't know if I would have handled it as well as you did!
