But I really want a candybar...

So, the diet wasn't a complete failure. It wasn't the detox I was hoping for... the first day, Susan bought pizza and left it on the table when she went to bed, and I couldn't help myself. I caved. I then decided that since it was already a bust, I may as well eat the leftover chinese too! Which was dumb, but what's done is done. On the plus ( Read more... )

Hey grrl! I support you totally!
I know you work like 23 hours a day, but can you find some time to get in a walk a few times a week? That should help, too. And snacky things like carrots, apples, raisans and nuts. Clearly Susan isn't going to be much help, but I wish you luck and will send good, sporty thoughts your way :-)

I've been doing pretty good with the healthy snack bit; lucky for me I actually like nearly all fruits and veggies. I want to start walking, especially before it gets too hot out, but the excercise part of any diet tends to be even harder for me than the eating healthy part :) Thanks for the words of support!

I don't expect I'll ever be perfect. I think that's sort of the point.

Amen. :)

Hehe, yes, mostly. Mostly new, that is, not mostly a kitty. She's about 9 months old now and we got when she was about 2 months. But she still looks very much like a kitten.

Hey! I'm doing the whole weight loss thing, too. Perhaps we can schedule an evening each week to go play some racketball or something like that! I know you paid into the student rec center so you can get free semesters of membership there if you just go in and have them add the semesters to your KU card.

Let me know if you're interested because racketball is a really fun high-calorie-burning sport!

That does sound like fun. I don't know anything about racketball, but I would love having someone to do things of a calorie-burning nature with!

The great think about racketball is that you don't really have to know squat about it to burn calories while doing it! In fact, the worse you are at it, the more calories you'll burn b/c you're moving your ass chasing that damn little ball!

It's really fun, though.
