The whole 'satanism' thing does get very skanky after a time. There is an alternitive, however. For those who like rightous music with more spirituallity and more bite then the likes of Slayer, I fully recommend some Soulfly.

Meshuggah is a good band on CD. But live, they kick ass. They do one hell of a show in front of a full venue. I was impressed.

We're just coming out of the atomic age and heading into the information age.
The rather funny thing I noticed, more and more, today's heroes be it on television, movies, anime or even mainstream seem to be anti-heroes.
And it's rather particularly funny that people are focusing more on someone's "darkside" and/or searching for "redemption".
Maybe it's just people seem to be able to relate more to someone who screws up than does good. Well, at least corperate america caught on.
I'm waiting for the "I <3 evil" bumper stickers and coffee mugs.

But valid, non-the-less. The reason I started to hate anime? Heroes were not really heroes anymore. They all turned out to be either neurotic assholes, derelict teenagers with no social skills (and a harem of whores), or raging lesbiansesque females. What ever happened to heroes being noble, honest and decent? People used to give me shit all the time on the MUD because I chose to play a 'good guy' hero. All these anti-heroes do have an impact on our kids, to say the least, and hopefully we will see more heroic role models in our fantasy as opposed to 'anti-heroes'.
