[It's been a while since ν-13 returned from her mallynapping. Beyond interacting with a few people and briefly attending Luka's concert, she hasn't done all that much since - or rather, she hasn't done much that would affect most people

That's about to change today. Why? Because there's something that's been bothering her ever since that ( Read more... )

[It's been a little over a week now since Jin first arrived and he's taking a walk, trying very very hard to not bother Ragna (it doesn't help that he has no idea where he is) over the journals or in person. Besides, he has Yukianesa and he knows his brother will disprove (as usual, but he just doesn't understand) considering their conversation back when he first arrived. The thing is, Yukianesa may be in his possession but it's still just as bad as not having her (technically, anyway)-the weapon simply will not activate and he has no clue how to take his brother's words from back home to fix this little issue. He's sure he'll figure it out eventually, albeit a frustrating issue to deal with ( ... )

[At first, ν-13 barely takes note of Jin's presence. He doesn't register as anything more than one of the villagers - people who hardly matter to her right now. There's something far more important to do than paying any mind to them right now, after all. But the moment he actually addresses her, she suddenly freezes in place.

...Of all the people she could run into today. Of all possible people. And the way he's addressing her, it's just too much like-

Ah, there you are...! ...Why the worried face?

...Who?

Were you getting lonely, lost all by yourself? Haha... I guess some things just never change.
-that dream. That dream she had a long time ago. Back in their own world...

...She still remembers what happened back then, even if it was just a dream. And not only that, but there's also what happened on the day she arrived in this world, when he'd suddenly attacked her while she was attempting to relocate Noe- no, Mu. It's likely that he doesn't recall that, going by what she could hear over the journals, but even so...]

[...She's not going to risk being caught off-guard like that again. Not today. Not when she should be looking for Ragna rather than being forced to deal with yet another hindrance.]

...Potential threat detected. Switching to guard mode.

[And that's why she won't waste any time in summoning the Murakumo unit. Even if it's not guaranteed that he'll start a fight like back then - both in this world and in that dream - there's certainly no harm in keeping the unit ready for activation in case he does do just that.]

[That isn't the response he was expecting (perhaps he wasn't expecting her to say anything at all), but it's clear to him now that this isn't who he thought it was, his eyes widening a bit in surprise.

(But, she's identical...? ...And apparently--)

His grip tightens on Yukianesa, his other hand clutching at her hilt more than ready to try and activate should a fight start.]

Goddamn it- [His words hiss out like a snake giving an attacker a warning. Gritting his teeth, he addresses her, although he's not exactly polite about it.]

What the hell are you doing here! [As if she was given a choice in the matter. But, he doesn't care. She just better not be after Ragna-especially not with that face.]

[If only that reaction surprised her. It's always the same with this particular hindrance, isn't it...?

She doesn't respond - not directly, anyway. Rather, what she reacts with sounds far more like something not directed at anyone in particular, as if she were simply stating a fact.]

Current condition: obstacle identified. Remaining in guard mode.

[The way he's speaking and holding onto that weapon - a Nox Nyctores? - of his is already setting off warning signals for her. If he actually attempts to draw that weapon, then... well, she certainly has no qualms with switching to a different mode should that happen.]

[That's not a very good answer to his question, Nu. He knows you can >:|!]

Answer me!

[But, since he probably won't get a better answer, that's about the time he goes to draw Yukianesa, not exactly battle-ready, but definitely for intimidation and threat purposes.

EXCEPT YUKIANESA IS STILL BEING A BITCH SO HE CAN'T DO SHIT NO MATTER HOW HARD HE TRIES TO ACTIVATE HER. all women are the fucking same. two faced pain in the ass bitches.

A grunt of slight dismay is what follows his futile attempt, quietly murmuring to himself.]

Yukianesa, still... why won't you...

[Bad move, Jin. Bad move. Even if he can't seem to draw the Nox Nyctores, the fact that he's attempting to do just that is more than enough for the Murakumo.]

Subject determined to be hostile... Engaging battle mode.

[And with that, she's going to activate her armor, though she won't actually attack immediately. Give her another moment, however, and she definitely will.]

[Oh, whoops. Surely this isn't what Ragna meant about getting into trouble or anything.

Shit.

Okay, first things first: he's not calm at all (YUKIANESA, stop this-!).

Well, whatever, he'd say he's in over his head, that without Yukianesa he's screwed but that would be admitting defeat.

And Jin Kisaragi does not accept defeat as an option. Time to play defense and beat the Murakumo Unit senseless with the sheath because it'll totally work :\!!]

[ . . .

You're... trying to beat a Murakumo by attacking with your sword's sheath, Jin. Really.

...Well, that's not going to work this time - that sheath is simply going to hit the eight hovering swords as ν-13 uses them to shield herself from the attack. As soon as she has the opportunity to, however, she'll dash back a little to put some distance between the two, and launch a blade straight at Jin. Should that hit, she'll follow it with another blade from a different angle; specifically, from a little above and in front of him.]

ACTION molinet May 25 2011, 00:23:13 UTC
[Welp.

At least he can defend better than he can attack with it, flipping the sheath forward into a block, striking the first blade thrown at him and keeping it successfully away from him in the process. This won't last for long, though (in the end she only threw one blade). He needs to think of something fast.

Fast like yesterday.]

Shit...

You're after my brother, aren't you.

[Thinking of some way to fight back is definitely not a bad idea, but for the time being, he might want to stay on the defensive. The silver-haired Murakumo isn't exactly just going to stand by and do nothing - in fact, she's already trying something different, seeing as simply throwing blades isn't working out too well.

To be specific, she's following her initial attack by jumping toward him and-]

Altering space.

[-once she's just a little above and in front of him, with one swift motion, she creates another blade. Unlike the previous one, however, this one won't fly toward Jin; rather, the intention behind this more crescent-like blade is to smash it into him, hopefully either knocking him down or actually making him bounce off the ground briefly thanks to the force of the impact if it connects.

Say hi to Crescent Saber, Jin.]

[He's never seen her before, and certainly has no idea what to expect from her, attacks or skills. Simplicity he can deal with, but with her leap forward he has no idea what's coming ( ... )

[She won't attack again immediately, no. Rather, while he backs away, she also dashes back a little to increase the distance between the two even further. This is fine... He's not proving to be as much of a threat as the last time they fought - is his Nox Nyctores not functioning? - and thanks to that, it shouldn't take much longer to resolve this situation. It's definitely preferable to how her previous fight with him went.

There's just one thing she has to do first if she wants to resolve this. Hopefully that won't take too long to accomplish...]

Open the rift. [That short statement is the only warning he'll get before another blade - this one resembling a saw blade of sorts - appears on the ground behind him, spinning toward him with the intent of knocking him down once more. In other words, Jin, meet Sickle Storm.]

[As quickly as he was on his feet, he's off them again, this time yelling in pain as the blade hits him (and his wings) in the back. It's force is enough to knock him off, and the stinging pain keeps him down a little longer this time.

Jin finds himself on the ground again, dazed from hitting smacking his head in the fall (it could have been much worse than just a daze, though, and he's lucky) this time forward, face to the cobblestone. This is terribly one-sided, and he was stupid to engage, but if she's after Ragna... he tries to get up once again, but is considerably slower this time. He mutters the next words in the process, more to himself than to her:]

You won't take him away from me again.

[Enough of this.]

You don't belong here.

[His grip tightens on the hilt of Yukianesa.]

You shouldn't exist.

And you won't.

... I am the cold steel... the blade that will restore balance to our world. Nox Nyctores, Yukianesa, activate!

[And for the first time since it stopped working when he met Ragna back home, it does. He doesn't draw her immediately though, taking a step and a jump back (with a spin in his movement) before landing back on his feet to face her. It's practically instantaneous that he lets go of his grip on Yukianesa's hilt, pulling his right arm back, hand almost over his shoulder, before swinging it out forward, directing the same hand out towards Nu.]

Blades of Ice!

[and following that is a large sword projectile made of ice being launched straight at her.

[...Perhaps she spoke a little too soon. If his Nox Nyctores is functioning properly now, then...]

...Target's threat level increased.

[First things first, however, she'll have to deal with that ice sword. The previous time she fought Jin, his Nox Nyctores was capable of freezing her; as such, it's probably best if she tries to keep any attacks that can be traced back to it from hitting her. For now, that's something she'll attempt to do by calling up a barrier, using it to block the attack. The impact still ends up hurting a little, but it's better than being frozen, at the very least.

When that's done with, however...]
