We're so alike that it frightens me. In the best ways and in the worst ways as well. At least, I think so.             

I've come to the conclusion is that we don't like the words "wasted," or "in vain," not because they insult the soldiers but rather because they criticize us for letting all of this happen.

What I will never forget is that every morning, Dad would snap me in my car seat and check that I had the right lunch and open the windows a tad to let in the bright autumn morning. I've been on this spate, this spree, of what I affectionately like to dub, "typical teenage songs." Songs about rebellion and idealism and thoughtlessness. My fingers don't feel cumbersome anymore.

I feel like I can touch the black and white keys without making my skull cave in.

I was able to identify whether a girl was singing off-key.

I think it's time to get out of the funk.

I don't know why it grated on my nerves, but the way my uncle came up to me with wide eyes and asked me whether I had heard about Virginia Tech just made me so angry for a few moments.
