Honesty's a good thing, and it solves a lot more problems that it would seem to create. However, there are lots of good reasons for people acting the way they do -- mostly it comes from the fact that they don't want to get hurt, especially if they've been hurt in the past. Honesty doesn't require people to be judgemental, though. It just requires a profound openness.
On a quasi-related note...
I'm sorry for being an asshole. I didn't mean to make you feel bad or anything when I forgot about the plans we made and stuff. I've just been in a horrible state of letting my priorities slip, and making bad excuses to cover for the fact that I just can't seem to get my shit together lately.
