I can't believe I had to show up at school at 7 a.m. to go to the zoo. Stello was being a cranky old man as usual; barking orders at everyone, telling Daphne that she had to pull her skirt down a little more or risk a detention for violation of the dress code, and most importantly, constantly reminding us not to feed the animals. I silently

... Oh. I get to sit next to Carly.
Well, there's an up point.
"Hey you."
I grinned. "Hey." I looked over, Madsen was stuck sitting next to Daphne. Poor bastard, I didn't even remember that was how it went. He looks like he wants to be shot. I'd pity him if it wasn't so freakin' funny. We'll be right across from each other anyway.
"So, I guess you're my partner."
"Looks like." I nodded, heading onto the bus with her in Stello's Hitler-esque line of students. The guy needs to get some hair back, and get a girlfriend. Badly.
"I call the window seat."
"Damn, I was kinda looking forward to staring out the window like an idiot when I got bored enough." I said sarcastically, letting her take the window seat.

And look, Sammy's with The Snowflake. Surprise surprise. If she really is a plant, this was so totally planned. Make her last name close to Sammy's so they always sit together.
As if no one would see right through that, how lame can you get?
I sat down in the aisle seat, right across from where Sammy was, and already Daphne's hairspray fumes were just killing me. Wait... Daphne and The Snowflake are friends right? So they'd wanna sit together... right?
I waited until I was sure Stello wasn't on yet, and leaned across the isle, making Sammy move so I could see The Snowflake. "Hey. Sn-- Carly. Mind switching with me? You can sit next to Daphne." And I won't die of hairspray fumes and her going on and on about my costume from the dance being unfair or whatever.

And in under three minutes, wow. He beat the old time of when we last went on a feild trip. I think the girl then had a crush on him anyway, she did move pretty fast. And at least he didn't call Carly 'Snowflake' this time. That was starting to drive me insane.
"Sorry, Madsen. I want to sit next to Sam. Besides, Stello said we'd get a detention if we moved."
I grinned and shook my head at the look at Madsen's face. He looked to me for help, and I shrugged. "Sorry, you heard the lady. Besides, it's not that long a trip."
"... Dude, seriously."
"You'll be fine."

There are so many things wrong with what he's saying, I'm not sure that I know where to start. One thing that I am sure of, is that I'm not that popular. Definitely not popular enough to earn a "Miss" in front of it, and even if I am, what does it matter ( ... )

Anyway...
They're talking. Madsen and Carly are talking, away from everyone else? That can't be good. If he made one death threat, so help me...
I walked over, Madsen didn't look happy but Carly looked more or less calm. Standing just behind her, and watching Madsen, I spoke up. "Everything okay?" I asked calmly. "Stello wants us to head in."
"Yeah. Everything's cool." Madsen rolled his eyes and looked back at me. "Stello make the threats?"
I smiled a little and nodded. "The usual. He already talked to Ryan, you'll probably get it in a minute too."
He nodded, and started heading in with the group. I looked back to Carly. "Should I ask, or should I just skip it?" I guess I wanted to know what the hell happened, Madsen definitely looked annoyed about something.

Why shouldn't he ask? His best friend is a jerk, it's nothing that he doesn't already know. His best friend hates me, and that too is nothing that he doesn't already know. His best friend is more or less telling me to stay away from him; that's something that he might as well know, I doubt the idiot is going to back down.
I really pissed that moron off. Go me.
"He told me that I'm too popular for you and that you don't know any better."
I think that sums it up pretty well. I think it's total bull, but Sam might not agree. He can tell me if he has a problem with any of this crap about cliques that Madsen is suggesting, I doubt that he considers me popular. I get along with everyone; there are a lot of people who do that, it doesn't make me some kind of social elite.
The comment about the play was still a low blow.
"And he mentioned that you don't like plays. If you don't want to go, it's cool. I was just asking."

... Yeah, I pretty much expected that much. I rolled my eyes, and nodded. "That's pretty basic." I said with a sigh. "Anything else?"
"And he mentioned that you don't like plays. If you don't want to go, it's cool. I was just asking."
Yeah, Madsen really is out to get me on this. I don't know what it is that he doesn't like so much about Carly, but he should be leaving me to my own god damn desicions. I swear, he's like my brother, but sometimes I really could just freakin' kill him.
"It's not that I don't like them, I'm just generally not interested." I realized that wasn't getting me anywhere, and tried to fix it. "I mean, usually there's no reason for me to go. But there is, so I'm going."
I headed with her to the inside of the zoo so Stello wouldn't start bitching. "If that's okay, I mean."

I grinned and shrugged a little, heading away before Madsen and Ryan got what was going on and saw that I did it. "I try." But still, this is awesome. Carly thinks I make things more interesting. This is all kinds of awesome.
I walked along with her, going through everywhere except for the birds. I can't say it was bad, and it was a lot less boring cracking jokes every couple of minutes. She really did like the lions, which was the tiniest bit unnerving.
I headed back with her to the bus at the end of it, and looked around for Ryan and Madsen. "... Guess they didn't get out yet. Hm." Should I do something about that? It's something to consider, I guess...

This means she doesn't want to tell on them? Hey, that's kind of cool. And when Madsen bitches later about Carly, I can tell him. Should pacify for just a little bit at least, which is good.
"Maybe we could talk to the person in charge of the primate house?"
"I don't know, the guy looks kinda busy..." I looked over to see the Primate Guy talking to some students and giving them a full out lecture on gorillas. "..." Wait a second. "... Is that a guy?"
I squinted and tilted my head to the side a little. "I can't tell."

No it's not a guy, she just looks like one. To me, that makes her the perfect candidate to go get Madsen out of his primate paradise. The zoo worker looks a little bit like a gorilla; I think Madsen will find her interesting, if not flat out scary.
It would be really funny if we could get her to make him cry, even if it is out of fear.
"Nope, it's a she."
I laughed at Sam and started walking towards the 'woman', but slowed down a little once I got closer to her. She was definitely a lot uglier when you got a good look. The mustache was just...and the mullet...like I said, she's perfect.
"Serves them right for invading the personal space of monkeys."
Sam should be the one to talk to her about Madsen and...the other guy. I don't remember his name, but he doesn't bother me about Sam. I have nothing against him, but this situation is funny enough. They took the hands on approach and I got to spend the day with Sam.
"You can do the talking."
