I still think it's asking for trouble.

There's a reason my sister doesn't have a ton of friends. And from what I've seen of Danny, I don't see him being any different than the usual. She just puts people off. No matter who they are. She puts people off, she picks fights, she does these weird little things that scare other kids her age ( Read more... )

We're either asking for a disaster, or this is going to go really well ( ... )

It's good that I don't care about what Sam and Carly keep doing in front of me, even though it's really really gross to look at, because they definitely don't act like I'm standing right here.

That's the only part I care about. First he's carrying me like a bag of potatoes, because he's dumb, and then he sees Carly and it's different. But it's because he's in love with her. And him being happy is supposed to be good. So I try to get used to it.

Sam's told me a bunch of times that I'm still important even though Carly's there. He's promised that he's not going to leave me alone, no matter what happens. Even if he gets married when he's old enough, which I think he's going to.

Then I'll have a sister in law. I think that's what they're called, anyway. I'm not sure I get what it's supposed to be.

Maybe Carly can tell me about it when she marries my brother. I think she should, it's the fair thing to do.

"Can we go now?"

"What? ... Yeah, we can go."Good ( ... )

"Hi Danny. Sam told me you're ten too."

"...That's 'cause I am."

My birthday isn't for a while, too. I'm ten and seven months. Ten and a half if you round down. That's what we're doing now in school, and Mom says I'm good at it. I don't know, I think you're not really 'good' at it if you have to practice a lot. You just practice a lot, and you know how to do it. Anyone could do that, even Seth.

"What kind of stuff do you like?"

"Well..." I don't like stuff that girls like, and I don't think I'll like anything that Arianna likes, but I'll tell her anyway. Carly wants us to get along, and Mom wants Carly to be happy. I can do what I'm supposed to, as long as I don't have to pretend to like what she likes, because that would be lying.

That's always bad.

"Comic books. I read a lot of those. Captain America is my favorite, but Spider-Man is good too. And I make models a lot. Airplanes and stuff."

"Do you like running? We could race when we get to the park.""Not really ( ... )

I watched Arianna walk ahead, and Danny follow her. And then I watched her turn around and start the questions. The questions are going to get followed shortly after by the babbling. The babbling is going to get faster and faster, until eventually, she has to stop for air ( ... )
