The first thing that went through my head after watching it was "Why am I surprised? THIS IS JOSS!" *sniffles*
I loved it, though. :D Actually, that's a lie...I hated it on first viewing. I felt...deflated...at first. But after watching it again, I've fallen back in love with it. Joss is a genius. An evil genius, but still a genius. :)
Before I wrote my LJ entry, I gave my first reaction to the friend I was IMing. And basically that it was good to know that no matter the show, even a short spurt of a musical like this, just never ever get attached to the love interest because he/she is toast from the moment they step onscreen.
That said, the awesome power of Joss and his writing that no matter how you try, you cannot HELP but get attached and fall in love yourself. And this is why the man is just completely evil. *curls up the couch and weeps*
I really had forgotten how it feels to watch anything Joss related... you fall for the characters and as soon as you are attached he comes up with so much PAIN and ANGST that you just wanna strangle him.
I really wait for the day he will write a happy ending for a love story. I don't think he's capable to ;) genius or not. it's just not something he can do apparently *g*
*curls up the couch and weeps* like the Hammerman? ;)
Okay, JOSS, I get it, love is doomed and everything, but come on - this was supposed to be a lighthearted little project, wasn't it?
To be honest, part III killed my joy of the whole thing. While Fillion was hilarous, I didn't particularly like his song and poor Dr. Horrible...
Did you ever watch Tara's movie, btw? Did you like it?
I finished S2 of BSG (mixing conversations right now...) and HATE them (love them...) for the big time jump in the end. We NEED to talk about this show next weekend! Which means I probably like BSG after all. Hee.
Directions. I'll try to write them tomorrow. Promised.
