tv: dollhouse

it's my first day off since, uhm, I don't remember! (I'm allowed to take 30 days a year off, and I still have 25 left from last year, you do the math...)
and since I got nudged by, hmm, let me think, julione (twice! heee!), miss_sarac, red_sunflower, slackerace, danaid_luv, and sweet_ali, I felt forced decided to spend it here ( Read more... )

tv: dollhouse, friends

Good for you having a whole day off... :)

And Dollhouse:
Well, maybe the prior buzz was all a bit much, even if you said you didn't have high expectations, I did. And wasn't really unsatisfied but I think they just need a bit more time. I was damn surprised Echo already notices something wrong and also at her being allowed to rescue the girl.
But other than that, as you said, unsurprising. Which is not good for Joss. But I have total faith in him and hope the meh (or even better, will have to see it in relation to the other eps) start was due to the supposedly heavy meddling by FOX!

And why don't I have a Joss icon? ::ponders::

Thanks, I really need some time off, the lack of sleep recently leads to all kind of funny wrinkles under my eyes. It's not pretty ;)

I wish I had your Faith (oooh, the pun! the pun!) in him *g*
but I still have hope. I'm wondering how they will do it with this premise, but I'm ready for being convinced.

I don't have a real Joss icon either, but that's because he broke my heart so often that I'm sulking that way ;)

:D She's alive!

Dollhouse-Review: Designed for Forgetting von Serienjunkies.

Whips and chains too ;)
That a promise? *g*

It's good to see you! How are you? How's the family? How are the nieces?

The lack of good dialogue is what was most disappointing for me. I didn't expect them to make it work. Especially not during a one-hour-pilot and with that premise. But, I expected to be entertained at least, which I wasn't really.

Yeah, that's what I've heard, too. Everyone is blaming Fox ;)
We'll see, I'm not ready to give it up (yet).

Thank you, it's nice to be around, and actually I might have the whole week off since I haven't got any calls from work yet. That means no panic projects yet and I get to have a break, which I really really need.
This morning my neck was so stiff that I couldn't get up even though I had to pee. Very urgently! I just couldn't move because it hurt too much. It took me half an hour to finally roll out of bed and drag myself to the loo under a lt of pain. *lesigh*

I missed you a lot, my dear. *hugs* I need to play catch up ;)

I wasn't bored off my head when I watched Dollhouse, but it definitely doesn't pull you in the way the other shows did. One comment I saw made a lot of since to as to why - where is the strong ensemble cast? There is always the ensemble with someone you can relate to, connect with, and by virtue of what Echo is, we don't have that. At least, I don't think we do. The show also seems to be one that isolates its characters a lot, which would explain why we aren't getting that dialogue we love so much.

I hope they are able to pick up speed quickly.

P.S. I cannot WAIT for Castle and Nathan Fillion on my TV screen. =)

This whole premise of a main character without character made me fear right from the beginning how they will make this work. And I'm not surprised that they haven't succeeded.
I'll bow deep before Joss if he can make it work without changing the premise, but frankly I don't see it. But maybe they'll just change the main facts ;)

I still have hope, but I hope it'll improve fast.

P.S. and I didn't even know about it!! When is it supposed to go on air?

If it wasn't Joss, I would be warier than I am, but I still have faith in him. :)
If it was anybody else I would have already given up, that's how little impressed I was. But I still have hope!
(and why does it always makes me fangirl-giddy when someone mentions Joss and Faith in the same sentence when talking about Dollhouse? heeee, I luv geeky fandom puns *g*)
