Nick has been home-from-work sick since Sunday. I've been half sick for a couple of days, but it finally caught up with me this morning. He went to the doctor this morning and was tested for the actual flu. Neither of us had actually been tested before like that. After several years of having a super tender left thumb, I now have a bandaged numb thumb minus the glomus tumor that was under my thumbnail all that time. It was nice to finally see the culprit this afternoon. Surgery was super fast and easy with local anesthesia and a very nice drug to keep me relaxed. Then I slept all afternoon. Author Robert Jordan (James Oliver Rigney Jr.) died on Sunday. As sad as it is, I imagine I am not alone in a feeling of relief that the "Wheel of Time" series is over.
