Damnedest thing happened this week...
So I get a letter from the Carthage VA saying that my therapy appointment got cancelled, and that they'll call me when they can reschedule it. (Mind you, this is already a month after my last session, so I was kind of ... tense.) I don't hear from them for two weeks... so I call them. Yes. That's an excuse. I haven't been creatively motivated lately, beyond honing my mad sarcastic comeback skills on coworkers. I recently picked up a full time gig at the home-improvement warehouse, changing out tags basically. The hours are nice: early morning to a little after noon. Writing assignments.
There's never any escape from them. The current ones being... event timeline of what may or may not have had a hand in getting sent back from Iraq during deployment two, a list of therapy methods that did not work, and a daily stream-of-thought journal that I will be bringing to the next appointment ( Read more... ) -
Too much detachment.
Psychologists throw around the word "detachment" like it's going out of style. Slip that particular buzzword in with your therapist, and all of a sudden they're all ears because it evokes the terms of a vernacular they enjoy playing in.

That being said, I left the Army a year ago. I'm married and my SO and I have three furry things. Still at lovely Fort Drum and likely to stay there for a while. I have a pack-a-day cigarette habit and still draw things in microsoft paint.
