Could you please fix the code for this meme or put it behind a cut? Thank you.

While I appreciate the polite manner in which you phrased your request, do you think you could sneak a cuss word or two in there next time?

Sorry about that, fixed now. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, the 2nd request would have had more curse words. ;) Merci!

Fun Fun. I don't have an accent, apparently, because I got:"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

The thing is... I do have an accent, just not a standard American one. I aspirate my hard consonants a little bit too much, because I grew up in a household with my mom's heavey German accent. That extra twinge of European makes a lot of people think I'm Canadian. (Except people from Canada, of course... they know better.)

I got midland as a near-tie second (which you can't see in the cut-and-paste results). I'm exaggerating about actively trying to remove the accent (although I did have to work for a while to get "orange" and "horrible" right), which mostly happened on its own once I moved to Manhattan. I'm sure I wouldn't fool a speech therapist, but I'd like to think I'm subtler than the usual South Jersey bloke. (But apparently it ratchets up a bit when I'm upset or drunk ( ... )

I have to say I like this quiz because it didn't say, "Get back to Wisconsin you cheesehead." I've worked long and hard for many years to get rid of that vocal situation.

I got the same thing. How disappointing. I've been subtly picking up little bits of the New York accent, too! WTF.

Patience, my apprentice in evil. A couple more semesters and you'll shed that tri-state drawl like magic. Just don't ever say "water" out loud to anyone, tho.

Jeez, you're in the west now!

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The West

Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.
The Midland

North Central

Boston

The South

The Inland North

Philadelphia

The Northeast

When I was younger, when we moved from Oklahoma, I had a southern twang. But since then, I've never had an accent, really. Pretty non-descript.

I did have a British teacher who told me that I had a very thick American accent, whatever that means.
