I just adored spending time with all the characters, so I'm thrilled you liked how they turned out in this.
I've played around in the Firefly universe with Drabbles, but this is the first time I was able to do a bit more exploring and dig a little deeper.

thank you so much! That is the best kind of compliment!
I was trying to view it as an episode in my head while writing, trying to bring the visual into the words.
Thanks again! *loves*

oh, thank you so much.
These comments are making me grin ear to ear.
I've spent the past 4 years writing for the Harry Potter fandom, and I've only really been knee-deep in Firefly for a year, but the series and the movie captured my heart.
I'm just so thankful to Joss, the show's writers, and (last but not least by any means) the actors for giving fan writers so much to work with. I'm constantly amazed by the uniqueness of each voice. It's hard to mess up when you're given such great canon.
anyway, enough of my rambling. *hugs*
Thank you again.
Your comment made my day.

i also love the idea of the trash moon and its having "popular" scavenge areas with guides and rest stations. it's an idea that seems exactly right for the Firefly 'verse, and it worked so nicely as a setting for the events here, as an environment that brought out the differences between Kaylee and Simon, and the ways they do and don't get around that to adore each other anyway.
and this: He spared a moment to remember how Kaylee had felt under his fingers - the smell of her that was somewhere between engine grease and soap. is such a pretty sentence.

I'm pretty new too - about a year now, so thanks so much for commenting! Means a lot to me.
(writing Jayne became a secret joy, and he was a little put out that I didn't give him more screen time!)
Thanks again!
