Anyone know where, besides eBay, I might be able to find a pair of working HH HF-200 bullet tweeters?

I definitely base my judgment of volume level on treble distortion, rather than actual SPL. This is probably at least partly why I find amplifiers with large amounts of negative feedback so objectionable.

I wonder why this is...

I have three and a half guitar amps (Fender, Marshall, H||H & a valve creation) two and a quarter of which need repairing. But I have found a source of parts for H||H gear now :3
I've also got a nifty power amp in need of a +/-40V 10A power supply. That's a nice convenient rating. I've certainly mongled a few spare transformers in that amp so far ( Read more... )

I have a working stereo valve amp at last! And it's a bloody good one!
I highly recommend anyone interested check out Aleksandar Kitic's RH84 design. Can be built from any old scrap and still performs very well, although in mine I have somewhat limited bass response (~40Hz @ 5W) due to teenytiny output transformers and incorrect coupling caps. ( Read more... )
