“How could you, Dongyup-shi?” Jaejoong asked. To say that he was stunned when he saw Yunho once the doors opened was an understatement. After not seeing him for almost 3 years except for on TV and on magazines, seeing him face to face felt surreal. But once he had gotten over the shock, he felt angry, confused and even frustrated! “You know how our relations aren’t the best right? How could you hire him after all that?”
Jaejoong was upset that Dongyup did not warn him about this beforehand. In fact, Dongyup should have had the sense to consider the possible conflicts between two artists before hiring them to work on the same project. Jaejoong had wanted to meet Yunho desperately, that bit was true. He wanted to sort out all the misunderstandings that surrounded the lawsuit and get some closure. Not only that, he also wanted to make sure that their relationships ended on a much peaceful note as compared to the intense fight they had leading to their break up. He wanted to clear all these things but a working environment was just not the place to do that. Which is why he felt so frustrated upon seeing Yunho and knowing that he would acting next to him in a very awkward atmosphere.
“Look, Jaejoong, we had no choice! We were running out of time and we needed an actor whose popularity matches up to Hyun Bin’s. SM entertainment was desperately looking for an acting gig for their artists and it seemed like a perfect match.” Dongyup defended. He knew all about the legendary DBSK lawsuit and breakup, everyone did. But sometimes emergency situations make you disregard such things. He knew that there would be conflicts arising on set due to such casting but at least the movie will be complete on time and people would definitely watch it for the cast if not for the storyline.
“Wait, SM had no objections to the role knowing that I was playing the opposite lead?” Jaejoong asked sceptically since SM was somehow supporting a project he was working on instead of blacklisting it. The situation reeked of suspiciousness.
“Like I said, they seemed desperate.” Dongyup shrugged. Yeah, that was pretty unlikely. SM was definitely up to something. “Look, Jaejoong, what’s done is done. There is no point questioning it. Yunho is going to play the lead role. I think it’s time you guys started getting along.”
With that Dongyup took off, attending to things that the director needed. ‘… time you guys started getting along.’ Jaejoong couldn’t remember when it was when they stopped getting along. Was it the time before the lawsuit when they chose different paths or was it after the lawsuit when they stopped contacting each other eventually? He didn’t know how the spiral of legal matters eventually led to their friendship turning sour and their relationship falling to pieces. But Jaejoong had the right to be angry. He had tried, tried so hard to keep their relations friendly at the least but that wasn’t reciprocated from Yunho’s side or everyone else’s for that matter. So he had gotten tired of trying when all his efforts remained fruitless which justified his feelings of being betrayed.

“Hello, Jaejoong.” That deep, smooth voice especially when he spoke while hiding his true emotions still got to Jaejoong in many ways.
“Hello, Yunho.” Jaejoong nodded back, as coldly as he was greeted.
“I believe we will be working together again.” Yunho remarked, holding his script to his chest.
“I do believe so.” Jaejoong replied. “Anyway, I have got to go and get my script.”
“Right.” Yunho stepped aside to make space for Jaejoong leaving. However, just as Jaejoong took few steps, he was hit by a wave of wooziness causing him loose his balance slightly. It was nothing abnormal in the beginning stages of pregnancy. This, along with bouts of morning sickness which had started last week.
“Woah, careful there.” Yunho exclaimed as he quickly grabbed onto Jaejoong’s arm, preventing him from looing his balance. “You okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine, just a little dizzy.” Jaejoong replied, steadying himself.
“Have you been eating well?” Yunho asked, seeming concerned.
“Of course.” Jaejoong replied once more before making his way to finding his script leaving Yunho feeling worried for him.
--
“Un-fucking-believable!” Yoochun slammed down his glass of soju. “SM is up to something and we know it.”
Jaejoong had not wasted any time in calling up Yoochun and Junsu to his place once he got out of rehearsal. He needed to tell them about the shock he had received upon seeing Yunho. Yoochun and Junsu’s jaws were also hanging loose when they had heard the news.
“I really don’t know what they are playing at but you’ve got to be careful around Yunho, Jaejoong.” Junsu reminded him. Who would have thought that one day he would be warning his friend against an ex-bandmate.
“I know. I still find it hard to come to terms with working with Yunho again. It’s going to completely awkward and everyone would be able to see that.” Jaejoong sighed, bringing his glass of iced tea to his lips.
“Wait, that brings me to a question. You haven’t told us the storyline or plot for this movie.” Junsu remarked, curious to know what kind of work Yunho and Jaejoong would be doing together.
“Oh, don’t get me started! It’s going to be painfully awkward I realized after reviewing the entire script.” Jaejoong groaned. “The basic plot is that there are two rival CEOs - Seung Hoon and Yunho - who are sleeping with the same person - me. And one of them ends up knocking up my character and drama ensues basically.”
“Ack, what a cliché. You guys are lucky to have an amazing director and cast that will prevent the film from flopping.” Junsu commented. “And no wonder, they didn’t kick you out after learning about your state.” Junsu waved at the generally part of Jaejoong’s lower body.
“Thank you, Junsu, you’re so supportive.” Jaejoong glared at his friend.
“Wow, Jae, I realized you’re going to be having a lot of intimate scenes with both actors then.” Yoochun realized.
“Yes, the idea didn’t seem terrible with Seung Hoon and Hyun Bin in prospect but with Yunho, it’s a whole other story.” Jaejoong sighed, burying his head into his folded arms. Yunho and he had dated for 5 years on and off before finally breaking up when the lawsuit started. They had a huge fight and remained cold to each other ever since although Jaejoong had tried to reconcile things unsuccessfully. Now to be acting in intimate scenes, it was going to be a mental challenge. Jaejoong couldn’t deny that dating Yunho was one of the best things that happened in his life. In fact, meeting Yunho itself was blessing on its own. He also couldn’t deny that even though he had been dating Jongyun for a few months now, he still felt something for his ex-boyfriend. Whether it was just plain anger mixed in with hurt, beytral or even a little bit of love, he didn’t know. All he knew was that he had to put a barrier around his heart when it came to Yunho and remove that barrier once Jongyun was around. He loved Jongyun and they are going to have a baby together and no one, not even Yunho, would be able to take this happiness away from him.
--
-2 weeks later-
“There is no need to be nervous.” Jongyun said as he straightened Jaejoong’s bow tie. “I’ll be there every step of way holding your hand.”
“I know you’ll be there but this is a big deal, Jongyun, I have never done this before!” Jaejoong exclaimed as he continued fiddling with his suit. Today was the day, the night of Jongyun’s movie premier, the night when they will finally announce their relationship to the world. All of Jaejoong’s previous relationships had been secrets hidden from everyone. So this would be the first time he would be coming out with such news and he was a nervous wreck over it.
“Leave everything up to me okay? Just follow my lead.” This wasn’t new to Jongyun. He had come out with most of his relationships but that was because they never really lasted so there was no long term damage from them. But this, Jongyun wanted to make it work. He laced his fingers with Jaejoong’s and brought him into a hug and kissed the top of black hair.
“You look gorgeous tonight by the way.” He complimented his partner once they separated from the hug. Jaejoong indeed looked stunning his in black suit which was such a stark contrast to his pale, glowing skin which had become even more beautiful even since the pregnancy started.
“Thank you and you look amazing too.” Jaejoong smiled for the first time that evening.
Jongyun pecked his lips and took his hand, leading them to the limousine waiting for them
.

The crowd was going crazy! The reporters, the fans, the people were in a frenzy as soon as Jongyun stepped out of the car with Jaejoong in hand. The photographers continued to snap pictures of every possible angle they could of the couple holding hands. This was going to be big news. The tabloids and the new sites were going to have a field day. Lee Jongyun and Kim Jaejoong in a relationship? It seemed like a picture perfect match.
‘Smile and wave. Smile and wave.’ Jaejoong repeated in his head as he stood next to Jongyun at the end of the red carpet. Jongyun was doing the same, showing that brilliant face of his to the cameras that continued flashing. Jongyun had not lied about holding his hand all the way because even until now their hands were held together. After a good 5 minutes of being blinded by the cameras, Jongyun and Jaejoong finally got the permission to proceed to the interview area just as they began feeling warm due to the outdoor weather and the excessive amount of lights surrounding them. Just as they were beginning to make their way to the left, Jongyun paused and turned around to face Jaejoong. Without any warning, he stepped into Jaejoong’s personal space and planted a kiss onto his lips. Jaejoong did not even have the time to react before Jongyun removed himself from Jaejoong. The photographers went even wilder hoping that they had managed to capture that short kiss and started demanding for one more as some missed the opportunity. But Jongyun simply smirked at the cameras once more before leading a befuddled Jaejoong and himself to in the interview area.
“Is it true that you’re dating Kim Jaejoong?!”
“Are you getting married soon?!”
“Is that an engagement ring on Jaejoong’s hand?!?”
The interviewers hurled their questions at the couple non-stop but Jongyun kept his calm until they quietened down while Jaejoong simply stood dumbfounded after what happened.
“Yes, we have been dating for 6 months now.” Jongyun confirmed as he spoke into one of mics. “I hope the media and fans will support our relationship.” He added diplomatically.
“Also, we are happy to announce that we will be expecting a bundle of joy in 8 months’ time.” Jongyun continued, this time speaking into another mic. He used his hand to guide Jaejoong forward, who had stepped behind letting Jongyun tackle the questions. Jongyun smiled at Jaejoong before using his other free hand to caress Jaejoong’s abdomen. That action further prompted more photo taking and video capturing.
“With that, I have come to another decision.” Jongyun announced as he took out a box from his back pocket and stood in front of Jaejoong.
“Kim Jaejoong, will you marry me?” He asked as he descended to one knee.
If Jaejoong was speechless before, he didn’t know how he had not just fainted on the spot. First Jongyun kisses him in front of all the press, then he answers all the questions by interviewers and now he is proposing to him? Jaejoong forgot to breathe for a moment and was starting to hyperventilate.
Jongyun did not wait for his answer for long before slipping the ring onto his finger. He stood up and hugged Jaejoong quickly while the interviewers and photographers continued cheering in the background.
“Congratulations, Jongyun and Jaejoong!”
“Have you decided on a wedding date?”
The questions kept coming but buzzing inside Jaejoong’s head kept them out. This did not even feel like reality anymore. Was he dreaming because everything seemed to feel lighter and his view was getting blurred. The only support that was preventing him from crashing onto the ground was the constant grip on his hand leading him somewhere. He did not know where he was going, what he was doing or who he was now. The hand leading him made him stop walking as he came face to face with several people. Where these Jongyun’s co-stars? Jaejoong couldn’t even care at the moment. Many of them congratulated him and some came forward to shake his hand. Jaejoong let his body do whatever on its own accord while he simply concentrated on breathing and come to terms with what just happened.
--
“Well, that went well, don’t you think?” Jongyun and Jaejoong had come home at 2 am after the movie had screened and they had attended the celebratory party afterwards. Jaejoong sat numbly on the couch, unmoving and silent. That was pretty much how he had been throughout the entire event. The only movement he made was fiddling with the new ring that rested upon his finger.
“Jaejoong?” Jongyun sat next to him and brought his boneless body closer to his own. “How are you feeling?”
Jaejoong turned to look at him, eyes betraying no emotions. “Why didn’t you tell me?” those were probably the first words he had spoken all night.
“About me proposing? Where is the surprise if I did?” Jongyun questioned, laughing a little.
“About you wanting to get married!” Jaejoong raised his voice. “We never discussed this!”
“Well, we would have to get married eventually! You’re the one who is having a baby, it should be obvious!” If Jaejoong could raise his voice, so could Jongyun. Jongyun was right and Jaejoong knew this because they would have to get married since Jaejoong was having a baby. They may have been celebrities but the Korean culture was still very much traditional in these aspects.
“We should have discussed this first!” Jaejoong continued to yell.
“Well, we never discussed about having a baby but we’re having one anyway. So why can’t I take some decisions myself?! If you have the liberty to spring life changing surprises, so can I!” Jongyun yelled back, getting up from his seated position.
“You can’t compare this to having a baby! That was entirely unplanned! It is as much your fault as it is mine!” Jaejoong stood up from the couch to emphasize his point. But as soon as he stood up, his blood pressure dropped causing spots to appear in front of his eyes. He quickly sat back down, grabbing his head to stop the dizziness.
“Jae!” Jongyun exclaimed in concern as he sat back down next to Jaejoong again. “Are you alright?”
“Yeah…just a little dizzy.” Jaejoong replied, his voice much softer.
“Shit, your blood pressure.” Jongyun cursed as he rubbed Jaejoong’s hand which was drained of blood and cold.
“Look, I don’t want to fight over this.” Jongyun started. “If you want, I can call off the engagement.”
“No, no, there is no need for that.” Jaejoong looked up at Jongyun. “It’s not that I don’t want the engagement, it’s just that everything is happening too fast!”
“I know, babe.” Jongyun rubbed Jaejoong’s back in comfort. “But these things are going to happen sooner or later. And I want things to happen sooner for us.”
Jaejoong finally let out a miserable, watery smile at that. Jongyun smiled back and brought Jaejoong into a hug as he continued rubbing his back.
“I love you so much, Kim Jaejoong.” Jongyun whispered into Jaejoong’s ear and kissed him long into the night.
--
“You’re pregnant?!” This is was the first thing Jaejoong was greeted with once he came onto
set. He had been avoiding all calls, text and basically any form of communication regarding his relationship with Jongyun, his pregnancy or his recent engagement. He hadn’t discussed the engagement part with his family or even JYJ yet. He wanted to sort out his own head before he sorted out other people’s questions.
“Good morning to you too.” Jaejoong replied. Yunho could not contain himself. When he had happened to watch the live telecast of the premier of Jongyun’s new movie, he hadn’t expected to see Jaejoong on his television screen nor did he expect to learn that Jaejoong was dating Jongyun, was having baby with him and now was going to marry him as well. He has wanted to call Jaejoong on the night itself but then he realized that they haven’t talked on the phone for ages and the fact he didn’t have Jaejoong’s contact at all.
“Jaejoong, do you mind telling me what’s happening?” Yunho questioned again. He needed to know more. It didn’t matter how much of a desperate ex-boyfriend stereotype he was pulling.
“What do you want to know, Jung Yunho?” Jaejoong sighed, he really did not feel like discussing his personal life with anyone. He came here to do work and that’s all he wanted to do.
“Everything!” Yunho exclaimed.
“Okay, so, I’m seeing Jongyun, we’re having a baby and now I’m engaged to him.” Jaejoong said simply, wanting to end this conversation as soon as possible.
“I know that!” Yunho said. “I want to know how? When?...and why?”
“I’m sorry, Yunho, you lost that liberty to question me on such matters a long time ago.” With that Jaejoong took his script and made his way over to Seung Hoon who was fast to congratulate him and begin practising without any questions asked.
--
“Oh Jae, I’m so happy, you have made all my dreams come true.” Mama Kim gushed as everyone sat down for dinner. After the engagement news, the only people Jaejoong wanted to talk were family. So the Kim parents had organized a small dinner consisting of Jaejoong, Jongyun and Jongyun’s parents.
“I agree, everything feels just right!” Mama Lee agreed with Jaejoong’s mother.
Everyone was all smiles at the dinner table. The families got along well and were impressed with their children’s choices. Everything seemed perfect for now.
“Here Jaejoong! You’ve more to eat! You’re just skin and bones!” Mama Lee exclaimed as she put pieces of meat onto Jaejoong’s plate. Jongyun laughed at his mother’s antics and the face Jaejoong pulled. Well, for one, he was glad that his mother had someone else to smother now. Jaejoong thanked Mrs. Lee before kicking Jongyun under the table for laughing at him.
After dinner, Jaejoong brought Jongyun up to his room which he grew up in. It was a really tiny space especially for two grown men but the Kim parents hadnt changed a detail about it since Jaejoong left. His old bed, posters and drawers remained in the same positions.
“So this is where you grew up, eh?” Jongyun asked as he looked around in the small room.
“Yup.” Jaejoong smiled proudly as he sat on his old bed.
“It’s cute.” Jongyun commented as he sat next to Jaejoong. “Like you.”
Jaejoong laughed at his cheesiness as he rolled onto his bed. Jongyun took that opportunity to roll right on top of him and kissed him deeply. Jongyun’s kisses were kind of electrifying that sometimes Jaejoong could feel his toes curl in excitement. Jongyun did not waste any time as he reached for Jaejoong’s jeans.
“Jongyun!” Jaejoong stopped Jongyun’s hand. “Our parents are just downstairs!”
“So? I’ll be quick!” Jongyun smirked and continued to take off Jaejoong’s jeans. Jaejoong smacked him lightly on the chest but complied anyway.
Moving around the tiny bed proved to be difficult but Jongyun managed to get both their jeans and underwear off. Things were really getting hot and heavy in the small, compact room.
“Oh, Jongyun…!” Jaejoong grasped as Jongyun entered him. He did not need much prep as they had quickie just before coming over to Jaejoong’s parents’ place. With Jaejoong’s hormones causing havoc and jongyun not resisting, their love making had increased tenfold.
Jongyun pushed in and out of Jaejoong while continuing to kiss him. He then moved his attention to the engagement ring that adorned Jaejoong’s finger, glimmering in the moonlight. Looking at Jaejoong wear his engagement ring caused Jongyun to have funny, happy feelings in his stomach. With that, Jongyun rocked harder into Jaejoong’s body.
“Hmmph!” Jaejoong moaned by bite onto Jongyun’s shoulder so muffle the noises coming out of him.
“Jaejoong? Jongyun?” Mama Lee’s voice called out. “We’re heading home now!”
“Shit! This is like highschool all over again!” Jongyun joked but kept going. Jaejoong giggled in a mixture of amusement and pleasure.
--
"And action!" Direction Lee called as his 2 actors set into motion.
"Hyun, please bring these files to the office and report back here in half an hour" Kyungsam ordered after dismissing the meeting that was currently taking place in the room.
Hyun complied by grabbing the files and turning towards the door but not before throwing a wink and quick smirk over his shoulder.
"And cut!" Director Lee called out again. This was the cue for the extras to start filing out of the set, the crew to put away the props and the make-up artists to drag the two actors into their respective dressers.
"That was good work Seung Hoon and Jaejoong! I will see you guys tomorrow. It's late, have a good night sleep!" Director Lee waved goodbye as Jaejoong and Seung Hoon made their way into the trailers to get changed and set home.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Choi Hyun!" Seung Hoon smiled at his co-star as Jaejoong chuckled at being addresses by his character's name.
"Yes, I will see you tomorrow, Kyungsam!" Jaejoong replied throwing an overly exaggerated wink at the veteran actor. Now who said that the senior actors were stuck up? Jaejoong was having immense fun acting with Seung Hoon who seemed like really fun guy to work and hang out with. He was completely down to earth and never hesitated to help the younger ones out.
"Can I send you home?" a voice asked from behind. Jaejoong knew that voice anywhere but that didn't mean that the voice was welcomed. Jaejoong was trying to avoid Yunho as much as could since he did not want things to get even more awkward between them by pretending to be friends when they had such a long, screwed up history behind them.
"No, thank you. Jongyun will be picking me up." Jaejoong told Yunho without even turning behind.
"Alright, then I suppose you don't mind me staying with you while you wait. Could use some company." Yunho declared as he caught up with Jaejoong and started walking beside him. Jaejoong remained silent, not wanting to comment on Yunho's presence.
"Jaejoong, I want to us to make up, be friends again." Yunho broke the silence the moment they reached the curb where Jaejoong would wait for Jongyun.
"Did SM put you up to this?" Jaejoong asked to the point, not wanting to beat around the bush.
"No." Yunho replied, his voice betraying no emotions. Jaejoong looked at him hard, judging whether Yunho was lying or not but it was impossible with the straight facing he was pulling. "I want us to be friends again by putting our past behind us."
"Oh, okay, that seems reasonable that I would agree to this after the number of phone calls and texts I wasted for a year trying to get you to talk to me!" Jaejoong replied sarcastically. Jaejoong could simply forget all unreturned calls and the entire year where he mopped around hoping that one day Yunho will pick up the calls. And now Yunho thinks that he can simply waltz into his life demanding to be friends again.
"I'm sorry Jaejoong for all those calls. I truly am. But I can't change the past. I can't change the old me. The most I can do is to convince you to befriend this new me." Yunho pleaded.
"It's not that easy, Yunho. I-" Jaejoong paused as his phone began to ring.
"Jongyun?" Jaejoong picked up the call. "Oh, I see. It's alright. I'll get a car or lift. Yeah, bye. Love you too."
"Jongyun can’t come?" Yunho asked looking at Jaejoong’s disappointed face.
"His press conference is running longer than expected,” Jaejoong clarified. “I guess I’ll have to take a cab home or call my manager.”
“I could give you a ride.” Yunho offered.
“I rather take a cab.” Jaejoong replied.
"Can you stop being difficult and just accept the ride? I will ask nothing in return." Yunho said firmly and did not wait for Jaejoong’s reply on the matter. "I'll bring the car around."
--
The car ride was mostly silent except for Jaejoong directing Yunho to his apartment.
“It was wrong of you of not return any of my calls.” Jaejoong broke the silence finally as he felt that he needed some answers.
“It was wrong of you to leave the company.” Yunho blamed Jaejoong back, getting a glare in return.
“It was a decision that all five of agreed upon until you two backed out.” Jaejoong could play this blaming game forever.
“And look where you are now. You can’t even perform in your own country.” Yunho pointed out.
“JYJ is doing just fine! In fact, I’m happier than I have ever been.” Jaejoong declared at which Yunho looked visibly hurt.
“So you were never happy with me?” Yunho asked, looking at his ex-boyfriend.
“Don’t make this about us.” Jaejoong replied, not answering the question.
“Was it because I couldn’t give you a baby or a wedding?” Yunho continued asking nonetheless.
“Yunho, just stop.” Jaejoong said sternly and Yunho did. He stopped the car. Jaejoong looked out and saw that they were already at their destination.
“Thank for the ride, good night.” Jaejoong said just before getting out of the car.
“You never answered my question.” Yunho asked from the car.
“Maybe.” Jaejoong answered before slamming the door shut.
