So pissed off...

I have always had long hair. Well, not always. I chopped it off and put it in a perm when I was 9, but grew it out when I was 12. Through high school my hair was down to my waist and healthy. I had the dead ends trimmed every 3 months, and it was absolutely gorgeous ( Read more... )

I would seriously go back there and BITCH. That is pissing even ME off >< (i love my long hair too, it is ME, and i keep it long and simple for the same reason!)

Please tell me you didnt pay ;_; it is rare that I say that, but I personally think she doesnt deserve to be paid for not listening to your wishes. I know they are supposed to pitch colors and perms and shit like that but she should have listened. My last SuperCuts gal did. Going so far as to only use water when i told her I never put anything in my hair but shampoo and conditioner.

Believe me, I've had to threaten to go to another 'stylist' before, when I explained i just want a trim, and to buzz the underside (very thick hair). So far no one has ignored my wishes. If they do... ohh boy.

Agreed with the above, and for the future, if it's just trimming off some dead ends, get a trusted friend and a good pair of scissors. ;)

I am a very non-confrontational person in, well, person. I just wanted to get out of there so I could go home and cry. I did, however, send a very strongly worded complaint to the corporate office. Not expecting anything, but it made me feel a little bit better.

I got their form email this morning saying they needed some more information and they're sorry it happened, etc. I wrote back this reply:

I'm not sure what can be done to "resolve" my complaint. I don't want the stylist fired. And there's no way to "add back" the hair she cut off. I was just VERY uncomfortable the entire time starting with the shampoo where she kept pressuring me to do something other than what I had asked. I do not like confrontation, but I nearly walked out with shampoo still in my hair because she seemed to not listen to anything I want, and I was absolutely terrified that she would take matters in to her own hands and give me a style that I had absolutely refused numerous times ( ... )

my hair used to be to my knees- it was glorious, and the only reason I have cut it is because when it was that long, being so long and thick, that I only ever wore it in a bun- what's the point in having all that hair if no one ever saw it- so, I cut it, short, in my opinion, to mid back. Yes it is growing out now, but I will likely keep it shorter so that it's actually manageable for me! (my arms were to short to brush it properly!)

Now, in your situation- trims are important. especially for those of us with long hair. But what you might do next time is sit down with teh stylist and bluntly say- if you dont do exactly what I want, I will not pay you. You might meet with the manager first to explain the situation.

what happened to you was a true physical violation..

It's not SHORT short. But it is definitely shorter than it's been in over a decade. I'm still getting used to it.

It's still short. I liked long Ashy-sama hair.

I did too. The boyfriend, however, really likes the shorter version. I told him he has a while to enjoy it as it won't grow out all that fast.
