I just found out this morning that I had a puzzle submission win in the latest competition on Picross 3D! I am so happy! This was a Europe-wide competition, and only 12 puzzles were chosen as winners. I don't win anything other than an imense sense of geeky pride, but that's more than enough for me ( Read more... ) -

This is my last Friday working before I start maternity leave! I didn't want to work, really, but I have a concert with the work choir and since I am the secretary I thought I'd best be there. I went to the loos in Tesco today and there was a lady with her ?4 year old son. She was telling him not to touch anything because it was all filthy. They didn't even flush! As they came out if the cubicle mum said no need to wash hands, because they hadn't touched anything. Little boy said but mum, it says to wash your hands! She reluctantly ( Read more... ) -

Ages and ages ago, when the making f this film was first announced, Tom starting getting all excited. My grandad died on Friday. It was kind of sudden, but not entirely unexpected since he's been getting frail for about a year and has had a bit of a grueling life, what with being a heavy smoker and drinker from the age of about 15 to 60 when he gave up smoking and cut back on drinking massively. I think Miles just fell down the stairs - that's not something a cat should do. I was in the bathroom and heard scrabbling, but I assumed the cats were scrapping which is perfectly normal. Cat Update
Maya came back from the vet without a trip to Andover for X-rays, which is definitely a good thing both as far as our sanity, the cat’s wellbeing, and our pet insurance goes. The vet thinks either she’s been in a fight (evidenced by the scraps of white fur attached to her chest which probably aren’t hers) or had a near-miss with a car (suggested ( Read more... ) -

We have a sick kitty. I came down this morning and checked the cats' bowls as usual - they were nearly empty so I topped up with dried food, and noticed as Miles walked passed Maya she yowled at him. Weekend of success! And some small fail.
