Some things here are disgustingly old fashioned. I'm annoyed that I can't go to a pharmacy because it's Sunday. A friend studying here is having problems because things are sent with paper through the mail still. There's no electronic signing up for her classes either. I've no idea how I'm supposed to go about it, hopefully my uni has a decent ( Read more... )

Ah, study it is. Never mind my last comment. The old-fashioned comment made me giggle. When I first came to the US from Germany, I could not BELIEVE that you still write checks for utilities and send them in the mail. I'm also still weirded out by all the ugly powerlines all over the place and how they hum and sputter.

LOL I can't imagine how much our experiences differ going through exactly the opposite situation :)
I don't miss power lines or billboards everywhere, that's for sure. I also love how cheap it is to have health and car insurance. A lot of electronics here are more expensive though it does even out with the big costs being a fraction of their US price
It weirds me out how everyone pays with cash. I love my debit card, but I rarely see people use them
