Today was the first day of yard sale-ing season. It caught me by surprise, since it is still March. I also met up with someone from craigslist who wanted to buy my Ergo baby carrier since I am not planning on carrying 35 pounds around for any length of time. I think the price was reasonable, though I believe I could have gotten more for it ( Read more... ) -

I am finding it very endearing that Ramsey is pretending that his dinosaurs are biting him so that they have to go into time out. He has been telling them "gentle dino, gentle dino." It is nice to see him utilizing pretend play to act out things in his life. Today was his first day of gymnastics at Ocean State School of Gymnastics in Lincoln ( Read more... ) -

Our living room is no longer ours any longer. It has been taken over by the smallest, yet most vocal member of the family. The behavioral specialist suggested we get a climbing structure for him because of his current behavior patterns. I was going to get one of those little cubes with a slide, but Anne had other ideas. I sometimes think that having a child has taken over our lives. I don't consider this a bad thing, as my father has said to me several times, raising child(ren) is the most important thing in a parent's life. Staying home with Ramsey has been a difficult blessing at times. It is hard to consider myself separate from him. An example of this ( Read more... ) -

Xmas 2009 is fast approaching and I am looking forward to xmas day with Ramsey and Anne. I am proud to say that we bought Ramsey only a few things and actually bought several items at yard sales. The kid gets more than enough from everyone else and doesn't notice or care if something is new. His request to Santa is for a black fish. At ( Read more... ) -

Ramsey turned 2 on Saturday. We marked the occasion with a party at my sister-in-law's house in Warwick. The theme was dinosaurs including a 4-foot-tall blow-up red t-rex, which happens to be sitting next to me right now. Ramsey just went down for his post-gym class nap. I am hoping it is a good one because he woke up at 4:45 this morning and really needs to rest. OK, I really need the rest too! I am pretty sure Ramsey said "Car go" and then "Papa" today. That might count as his first "sentence." In other Ramsey news, we were looking through a picture book and I asked him where the crib was. I have to admit that I sat down at the computer because Ramsey almost always asks to nurse when I'm sitting in this chair, and he hadn't asked since prior to the sun rising (already nixed the night nursing, he often continues to ask around 3:30AM).
