It is a well-known fact that home warranty companies (not to be confused with homeowners' insurance) are pretty dumb. We haven't had problems when we used them for repairs (A/C wire that fried last summer), but have heard stories of them dragging their feet when it comes to replacement. Here's our story so far. Other people's negativity is bringing me down. Some people really end up trying to find as many reasons as they can as to why something sucks or why they don't want to do it. The master bedroom project is coming along swimmingly. We managed to get the closet painted Friday night, and cleared out the bedroom, ripped out the nasty old carpet, installed the new bedroom door, and had about 1/3 of the new flooring down by Saturday evening.
