Doctor Who S7

OK so I watched the last episode of Doctor Who and I loved it. (Of course I do, I always do. There are very few exceptions to that rule.)

But I have a question. About a potential plothole.

And this is in no way me bashing the episode, the writing, anything like that. I just ... don't get it.

SPOILERS below the cut! )

As far as I can tell, whether a point in history is a fixed point or something changeable depends entirely on HOW THE WRITER OF THE EPISODE WISHES IT TO SERVE THE PLOT.

*sigh*

I love this show. But I love logic and rules and consistency. Which makes things so hard sometimes. ;_;

Heh, yeah, that is a very good point actually. :P

I know exactly what you mean.

A lot of the time I can put aside logic and just enjoy it. I am a big kid on the inside, and most of the time things that are wrong in an episode/story arc don't even occur to me! I'm too busy sitting on the edge of my seat being far too invested in children's telly. ;P

But this one - well. They wrote out my favourite companion(s) in a way I felt was a cop out even before last Saturday's ep., and now (in what is technically the same series) they've had an episode contradicting the reason why they couldn't be saved. :| I'm a bit miffed.

... Not that I don't like Clara, Clara's cool. And she's from the north (roughly my bit of the north if day trips to Blackpool and her dad's accent are anything to go by), which is even cooler! :)
