Help is available, dear. In my experience and based on much research, anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications have come a long way over the years. Since there's a bio-chemical reason for serious depression and anxiety, it makes sense that medication prescribed by a knowledgeable doctor is the answer ( ... )

The meds to which I refer neither change one's personality nor turn one into a zombie. The effect is positive and invisible -- a subtle lifting of the veil of sadness and inertia and fear in the pit of the stomach, enabling one to put one foot in front of the other.

Thanks, as always, for your helpful advice and encouragement. I have heard mixed reviews about the medications, but they tend to be positive from the people who actually take them. I guess I have felt a little apprehensive because my mother seems to be against me taking any kind of meds. I don't really care because she's not a doctor and it's my decision anyways ( ... )
