diaper question

my little boy is 5 days old and so far every single time he has a wet diaper it soaks through his clothes. I have 2 different diapers that I've tried but none prevent him from leaking through. I'm not sure if I should try to buy a more expensive brand of diapers and see if that works..or is it normal for a little boy to pee through his clothes ( Read more... )

I have a little girl who did that... in my experience and what other mommies have told me... the best diaper for boys is Huggies (any of the huggies) and the best for girls in Pampers (NOT baby dry! I hope this works!

Thank you :) I think I'll buy some Huggies and see how that goes then.

I second the Huggies. You may also want to make sure that his penis isn't sticking straight up and that you make sure that it is real snug around his waist.

it is always sticking up...would it hurt him if I move it? I had him circumsized so I'm afraid to do anything with it.

I didn't have my son cut but if his penis is pointiong towards his tummy (up) his belly usually will get wet too no matter what brand of diaper I use.

Naw, you won't hurt it.

Don't "point it down," just try and give the front of the diaper a little pooch so that when he does pee, his penis can stick straight out, rather than being stuck straight up.

i use walmart's brand, which is called White Cloud here, it's cheaper, and just as good as the more expensive brands.

now I didn't have much luck with White Cloud diapers with my daughter (now 4) when she got to be 6 months+. I used them during the day time when she was changed more often but I didn't buy them again. I also didn't have much luck with the walmart brand that had the plastic outside and the Suzy Zoo pattern.

Those are the heinous dry bottoms. Afwul, awful, awful. Any time she takes a poop, they leaked and leaked BADDLY! Never again with those.

The brands I like: huggies, nannys' (aldi generic) pampers, white cloud, kroger generic, and the BJ's generic brand.

brand to avoid above all others: Dr. DryBottoms. They are horrible and leak like crazy.

See I tried huggies and pampers - and my daughter leaked with both! I have to say that Luvs has works wonders <3 <3 And thankfully they are one of the less expensive brands ^_^ You might want to give them a try <3 Good luck finding a diaper that works!!
