It's a soggy, Fall day outside but I'm tucked into my purple painted office to work from home today. I've filled out my mileage form for September, looked up information of flu vaccines in pregnancy for a client, reviewed VBAC protocols, updated my schedule, and will spend a good part of my day plodding through MoreOB modules that have to get done

That home-work balance is really tricky at the best of times, but when you are in a whole new career in a brand new city? Insane! It sounds like you (and the girls!) are doing amazingly well with your new circumstances. So so so happy for you that you went for your ultimate career goal and now you are THERE!!!!!!! Can you imagine going back to that gas station job today? No way! Now for me to figure out what I want to be when I grow up... Wish I had a passion like you do...

Yes, every once in a while it sinks in that after so many years, so much struggle and sacrifice and expense that I did it! I accomplished this huge goal to do something I'm passionate about and I'm getting paid to do it! Amazing, really. It's worth all the little (and sometimes, not-so-little) headaches that come with it :-)

Yeah, the plumber came and they think something wasn't graded properly when they did the basement renovation. Lines are clear, vents are clear, still not draining well :-/ They'll come back with a camera next time and we'll find out if we need to bust up the concrete floor *groan*
