Both AU characters and OCs within a fandom universe are allowed, just as long as you don't mind doing a much more detailed app than you would for a fandom character. (The history section matters a lot in this instance, whereas it's less important for canon characters.)
I had a question about comics-turned-movies, specifically The Losers. Would someone (okay, I) have to choose between movie!canon or comic!canon, or would it be okay to maybe combine the two?
Hey! I am wondering what the policy is on bringing in characters who are dead or near-dead. Would their wounds be healed or would they have to deal with that some other way?
I ask because I'm thinking of apping Vanyel from The Last Herald Mage at the point in Magic's Promise where the Shadow Lover asks him to choose between going to the Havens and going back to life. So yeah.
You can definitely bring in dead/near-dead characters. Their wounds would be mostly healed--he would have some lingering, nonfatal injuries and phantom pains. The ratio of one to the other is up to you.
Question regarding the timing/pacing of the plots - do you predict/plan for them to run pretty fast or to a tight schedule? Meaning, am I going to miss out on everything if I can't spend a day just tagging or will they last longer than that?
Honestly it will probably depend on the plot. Some events only last a day--but that doesn't mean once that day in real life is over you can't tag into the post. Basically we're functioning on the 'time is flexible' principle, to a reasonable degree.
Not all players will need or get to participate in all plots, just do to timing conflicts--but backdating, some assumptions, and working out with other players what your own was up to during given plots is both okay and encouraged. We only ask that if you don't have a chance to play out something major (for the sake of the 'story so far'), someone involved let the mods know how it went down.
As far as scheduling goes, again, that will depend. Certainly at first there's not going to be a whole lot of overarching plot happening; characters will need time to discover their surroundings, for one, and be introduced to some of the major players of the Wood.
Long answer short, we all have lives, so we're definitely not expecting you to spend yours tagging plots and events.
