And we'll have fun, fun, fun...

The alarm went off at 5am, playing some wildly enthusiastic song that I couldn't quite grasp. I barely opened my eyes, but memory slowly drifted in, reminding me that this was the morning I actually had to get up, get dressed and be ready for when Karen arrived - because some idiot part of me (now in hiding, terrified) signed up to go run around ( Read more... )

Congratulations!!! Fantastic. I am not a runner, so I admire what you have achieved. I guess you will try to beat your personal best next year.

Okay, I don't normally read this blogging stuff, let alone post responses. But Kerri told me about your post and I couldn't help stopping by and having a read. I found it an interesting (and inspiring) read. Although I've been a jogger for a number of years, I've never gone on a fun run... never even considered it. One of the things I like about jogging, is being alone. It's my solitary, thinking time. So the idea of jogging with thousands of other people never really appealed. But, I've gotta say, your post is making me think that maybe I should, perhaps, possibly, just maybe, consider doing one. So... next time you and Karen are entering one, let me know. You never know, I may just show up.

I'll pencil you in, George! There's a big fun run in Melbourne on 28th June. You've got 7 weeks to polish up your 5km time. I'm going to give it a go as I need another interim training goal and if I can do 4km now, I should be able to do 5 in June.

Any other takers? :-)
