Ash goes to a tabletop game every week on Sunday. Six times a year I get to go larping. Sometimes we use an available set of grandparents and Ash gets to come larping too.
I have found time away from Martin, and indeed an occasional weekend of fun to just be "Carrie" not "Carrie, wife and mother" to be good and needful things.
Do you have an available and trustworthy relative to leave Frank with even one weekend a year, so you can get some "you" time?
See, I get tabletop once a week, but can't larp unless Vince stays at home. My parents would love to take Fran, but live 5 hours away, making it wildly impractical. Vince's parents would love to take Fran but already care for an elderly relative, so can't really help out. I will be playing Serenity and Alone later this year, but am pretty gutted to miss Odyssey just 'cos Vince is irreplaceable. Plus, since Vince's parents care for an elderly relative, all it takes is for his mum to twist her ankle, and Vince would have to step in to help out, so it's really not sensible for the Philosophy game to be so dependent on him...
They've just gotten worse. Due to IC story/player shenanigans, Vince now needs to rewrite the codes for the entire astrological alignment side of the Forge to add in a new 6th Nation. He did not seem impressed at this turn of events, nor can I blame him.
The problem, especially from Katy's perspective, is that the process is somewhat too Vince-dependent. Its possible that Vince has not permitted himself to be replaced/replacable.
That may-or-may-not be the kind of problems you are referring to
I heard that Dan Waldron had been recruited at the end of the event to join the World Forge staff, so that might make a difference.
Some philosopher players I know have suggested that it would (in their opinion) be relatively simple to code something which would allow a lot of what Vince does to be computerised. Sadly, I have no first hand experience of the World Forge to back this assertion up. With the sixth nation coming in and the winter break, now would seem like the time to implement such a thing though.
Being so reliant on one person, no matter how capable, is ultimately a recipe for disaster anyway.
Anything with consistent specific rules is codable, generally the challenge is in constructing that set of rules rather than implementing them in a programming language

I remain thankful that Kaz and I can split on LT/PD lines.
I may be naive but, when Matt processes the Last Ever Downtime, he may have some space to build Robo-Vince. Maybe. Alongside Empire's rules dev.
Oh and Swift Healimg and Recovery to all!
