Yes, It does seem that I walk a fine line between bastard and citizen. But, judging by the actual outcome of being a manipulating bastard then it makes sense. One must walk a fine line to really get into society this day and age. Quite frankly, I am exhausted with all my work. So, I may have slipped since being married but I can assure you that I am still quite a bastard.
Truthfully, I think "bastard" is far too banal a term for what a man like you can become when he unleashes the full force of his manipulative powers. "Bastard" implies little more than straightforward offensiveness, and it's easy enough for any man to be offensive. But to be cunning, even duplicitous; to possess the considerable intellect and subtlety necessary to make a career of bending others to your will... that's an achievement which deserves a finer sort of disparagement, wouldn't you say?
