It's almost like it never happened, only, you know, it did.

The steadily declining sun
breathed light about his face,
the firmly transparent wind
pressed the folds of his shirt
against his chest,
as he carefully chased
the sparkling horizon.

The beach before him
was dotted with
vivid spectral fires as
the beams of sunlight,
like bright burning flares,
slowly rolled along the shore.

Standing on the platform
in the cold rain alone.
Waiting for the arrival
of the last train home.
With the rain beating
hard against the ground.
A soft deluge on the roof,
a most beautiful sound.
And as I sat safe and dry
infront of the station,
I asked my self if I thought
I could find redemption
in returning to the place
that I left behind
