It's a homeowner's association. Basically there are rules and regulations to what you can do to your home to increase property values.

So she "has contacted legal counsel about the posts"... If the situation is anywhere near what you're describing said legal counsel will tell her to stand down and try to fix this, as you seem to have done everything you could to get a reaction out of them.

Well done about keeping records of calls and emails! If they're stupid and drag you to court you can show what you have and they won't have shit.

Still, sorry you're having these kinds of unnecessary issues!

Find out when the HOA board meets next and go to the meeting. We used to live in an HOA subdivision and our board met once a month or so, and the meetings are open to all residents of the subdivision. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this. Smart move keeping a record of all your phone calls. Maybe you could try sending a letter via certified mail in addition to phoning? That way you would have a receipt to prove that they had gotten your communication.

I have social anxiety disorder and tend to be a little paranoid with trust issues about people and how I'm perceived. Living in an HOA would be a nightmare because I'd never want to leave my house for fear that I'd be spied on 24/7, silently judged without ever have an opportunity to defend myself. It also doesn't help that pretty much every person I've ever known (including my husband) that has resided in an HOA had a nightmare dealing with narrow minded, nitpicky bullshit. The stories I've read in reddit forums haven't helped to reassure me either, so I always encourage folks to steer clear of HOA neighborhoods if they're not prepared to deal with the inevitable consequences.

I'm so sorry you've had to deal with this mess and sincerely hope your battle with the mailbox and trash bin Nazi ended well in your favor.
