I guess I was just a bit hesitant. I had them up on DeviantArt, but I was especially unhappy with this one. It was a weird combination of BBC and canon and it just wasn't working. After a re-write, some suggestions from Verity, and some more re-writing, I finally am satisfied with it.

And I guess part of it is that I know you guys. I mean, I care about your opinion. Most of the folks on DeviantArt are strangers to me, so it was a little easier to put myself out there in that forum.

I'm really pleased that you and other folks I've gotten to know a bit better from sign_of_fun are enjoying them.

Also, your icon fits the description of Sherlock exactly. I mean, obviously, that's how Benedict looks. But that icon hits all the points I focused on: almond eyes, long yet blunt-tipped nose, vaguely heart-shaped lips. :-)

It's a wonderful icon, isn't it? I love it. His whole expression is just wonderful and I want to hug him every time I see it. And the background colour almost matches his eyes perfectly which is even better!

I wasn't hiding it, exactly. I was posting stuff over on DeviantArt, but I guess I was shy about showing it to people whose opinions mattered to me. I had shown them to Sarah but I've known her for a long time, and I don't know... I guess I just had to have someone push me. Verity pushed.

There's one more short piece, which was actually a response to another fic, though it can stand on its own. I'll probably put that up in the next day or so. And then I started a longer piece, which I got two segments into and got stuck. I really like what I have so far, but I need to sit down and figure out where I want to go with it.
