Digital Devil Saga AU. The Gang are infected with the Demon Virus accidentally through the telly and become 'Asuras' -- reactions to newfound need for cannibalism. What are the group dynamics like when they're brought together by murders they're helping each other with, rather than solving?

AND/OR

Kanji's demon form is strong on ailments, especially Charm, and has terrible tentacle affiliations. Souji knows he wants both of these and, reasoning that if he's decided he can eat people, this can't be terribly uncomfortable to ask for.

Nanako knows because her room is next to the bathroom and the stairs, and no matter how quiet he tries to be, the floor squeaks when he passes by her room. His hair looks almost blond under the streetlight. Juice dribbles down his chin. Maybe this is a dream. She doesn’t think that raw meat can taste this good, but he eats it so fast that Nanako wonders if maybe it does taste good. Then he reaches in and eats more. It’s like he can’t stop being hungry. Nanako thinks that this is maybe a joke, the way sometimes the boys in school will drop their pants and run the school, but he keeps going, and he isn’t laughing ( ... )

Woah. I haven't played the game, but this is stunning (highly compelling and shiver inducing~). Nanako's POV made this so much more horrible. Definitely looking forward to the rest.

I'm really enjoying this. Writing it from Nanako's point of view was a great choice. I like seeing everything through her eyes, and it was very interesting to see how the group interacted. The writing's very good too.

I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.

She stops when she realizes that Yosuke’s looking at the girl in the same way she is. She tries to focus on the boy running ahead of them, but something about him doesn’t look as tasty. She puts a hand over her mouth. The exams haven’t made it any easier to keep her energy up. And it’s so hard to focus on the question when Ms. Sofue’s skirt reveals that much leg. Yukiko can practically smell Ms. Sofue’s skin, which is perfumed and sometimes strangely chalky. Sitting in the front row means that there are a lot of hazards. Not for her. They’re hazards for her teachers ( ... )

For some reason I wanted to laugh when Yosuke said that Souji had picked out the next person for them. There's just something morbidly amusing about him being such a leader even under these circumstances (one of the things I like about this is that even though it's a dark topic, it's not written in such a graphic way that turns me off). And Yosuke seems so casual about it all. I said last time it was interesting how the group interacted and not only does that still hold true but it's just as interesting seeing how each person is handling it. Switching PoV's worked out nicely.

Four hundred pages! Makes my college work look like nothing, and you still manage to write for the meme? High five.
