Japanese lovvvvvvvvvveeeeeeee to give gifts. They give gifts for every occassion and pour out a lot of thought, time, and consideration for everything they give. These are called omiyagi in Japanese and there seems to be some sort of social rule for when to give them and when to give a gift in return.
