On the 19th or 20th, I hope to go visit listener. Using a flight credit from last time I tried that (and had to cancel, because of my back), which is stored on my JetBlue account. Under my current name

Congrats! You can get the gender change too? That'd be awesome, and much less trouble than would be typical.

Good luck with airlines; I'm sorry if it screws up things with tickets, but really, it's probably worth it.

The gender on the driver's license is independent of other gender markers, and it's a relatively simple form to change it.

Yeah. "What's your legal gender?" is such a complicated question!

The extra form has to be signed by a "medical professional" that can include any doctor or therapist.

I had to do that exact same thing last year. But on top of that I had lost my driver's liscense so I had to get a new one, which left me with my new name on my ID and old name on my ticket. I just brought everything I had, name change court order was the most important, but I had my birth certificate just in case. It meant that they pulled me aside and did extra searches each time, looked through my carryon, tested me for explosive residue, etc. But I could still fly just fine.

However, if you don't have any reason to update your ID on the 16th, 17th, or 18th, depending on how much you care about it, it might just be easier to wait to do so until after your trip.
