Mama was still not feeling very well yesterday. Daddy made sure she ate, and she kept it down.

The CAT scan from Sunday showed some swelling in the brain, and they did another one yesterday that was basically unchanged. I'm thinking that is what is causing her to feel bad.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I really thought I had posted, but guess that was in an alternate reality :)

Mama has been doing a lot better. Saturday when I got there, she was sitting in the courtyard/garden. She sat up for a long time there and then for a while longer when we took her back to her room. She ( Read more... )

Sorry for the lack of update yesterday. I went to see Mama and was immediately dispatched back home to get Coco. Seems they look positively upon pets visiting. Pet thereapy they call it. So for the first time since she was taken to the hospital Mama got to see Coco. They were both SO excited to see each other.

Mama is now at Eastside's Rehabilitation Center off Hwy 78 in Snellville. It is the old Eastside Hospital, for those of you who remember it.

Visiting hours are much more strict here. She is allowed visitors M-F from 5-9, Sat 11-9 and all day Sunday until 9.

She has a busy schedule of therapy each day. She is in ( Read more... )

Mama is being moved today to Emory Eastside Hospital for rehab. This is moving her much closer to us, we'll only have to drive to Snellville instead of Decatur.

Mama's procedure went well yesterday. She is now in room G244, which is NOT an ICU room. This is a major step forward. She looked and sounded better yesterday than she has for several days. She is still very weak, but the doctor said he's going to give her one day to rest, then he wants her up and moving as ( Read more... )

Mama will undergo another procedure tomorrow around noon to place a permanent drain in her skull. The drain will be connected, somehow, to her stomach, so there will be no external tubing. This will enable her to come home much sooner.

Mama is sleeping again today. Since they put the tube back in, she will be in ICU until they get it going like they want. It can only drain a certain amount each hour then they have to clamp it. So, I guess it is just trial and error.

Mama had the drainage tube removed this morning. She is now able to sit up a little more. She wasn't able to eat lunch, she got sick after just a couple of bites.
