Maps and dreams

Just a little vignette I wrote this afternoon instead of preparing a geography lesson...:)

Frodo/Sam, PG-13. Inspired by the following passage:

Frodo began to feel restless, and the old paths seemed too well-trodden. He looked at maps, and wondered what lay beyond their edges: maps made in the Shire showed mostly white spaces beyond its borders.

This is beautiful but so terribly sad. The phrase that undid me was 'unknown stars'.

Thank you!:) I wanted to give a feeling of distance, hence the "unknown stars", but it came out sadder than I planned.
