Independence day.  I'm not going to blog about what it means or some kind of halfway patriotic reflection about how pretty our beaches and mountains are.

Scout and I had our monthsary on the 4th, which, of course, meant either cake or ice cream.  Usually I also cook an elaborate dinner, but we were both tired and Yaya already cooked chicken afritada.  So we just had that and chocolate mousse, as well as a Buffy marathon date.

Finished The Price of Salt yesterday.  It wasn't as suspenseful as the blurb indicated, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.  It was like an attempt to put the writer in a box as a suspense writer, when really, The Price of Salt is a love story.  I love Patricia Highsmith's voice.  Tempted to read her other books.
