BoyCat's first night home

Nov 25, 2011 00:09

BoyCat had a restless night, and consequently, so did I. He just couldn't seem to get comfortable. But fortunately, he wasn't having any problems breathing.

He's taking more meds than most people. )

That sounds like a very demanding regime for you to keep on top of, but how wonderful that he is responding. I'm so glad you have more, quality, time together.

I'm sorry and mad that happened to your sister's dog, who sounds like a darling. My parents' next door neighbours have a dog which has bitten people and attacked two of my parents' dogs at different points over the years, in one case necessitating stitches at the vet, and still they walk it without a lead and get shirty if anybody speaks to them about it.

Irresponsible pet owners make me so cross at the best of times, and to hear that these people did nothing when the attack was happening is atrocious. I hope your sister's dog doesn't have any long-lasting trauma from the attack.

My sister's golden retriever mix is fine--no apparent trauma judging by her behavior on tonight's walk. She's a sweetheart of a dog--not a mean bone in her body. Not too many brain cells, either. :)

To be fair, the woman was very apologetic and did make a point of letting us know how to get in touch with her if there were any issues. But still--keep your dog leashed whenever it's not in your house or yard!

Your parents' neighbors sound like idiots who are just asking for a lawsuit. What makes people like that think that their desire to walk their dog without a leash preempts the safety of other people and animals?

In terms of BoyCat's meds: Let's say that I'm very thankful for my cellphone's ability to set multiple alarms and for the invention of pill pockets. BoyCat thinks that the alarm going off means he gets a treat.

I'm glad to hear your sister's dog seems to have bounced back. Not having too many brain cells can only be a good thing in this case. And it's good to hear that least one of the owners took responsibility; I only hope they've learned from this and will keep the dog leashed in the future ( ... )
