The Adventure of the Resident Patient - Discussion Post

Mar 07, 2011 22:01

This week, we get a blast from the past as Watson narrates an old case, we are once again reminded of the dangers associated with job interviews, and nervous disorders are easy to fake in Victorian London, apparently.

DISCUSS.

You can hardly expect me to answer that, Mr. Holmes. )

1. Ya, it was okay :) I think I'm ruined against all the other stories now after The Musgrave Ritual, though. Now I'm just waiting for Mycroft and Moriarty to plead their cases :P

2. Ummm, no? I read this a whole week ago... But, Sherlock seems rather popular and the doc just wordlessly accepts Watson coming along, so it seems like it should actually take place later, once the stories are popular in the public of their universe.

3. I dunno, I assume he got to keep the business (maybe? Not sure on Victorian property law) and all he had to put up with was a bit of stress and a grisly murder. Not a bad profit ;)

4. It's always fun to hear Sherlock describe what's going on, it's almost never surprising, so they can be a bit insulting, I suppose.

5. Ha. I'm really not sure ACD can top the Red-Headed League for this trope of his though, because his client had to be such an idiot not to see through it :)

6. I can't remember D: Did I miss squee? I'm sure I would have gotten all giddy at the time, but if I did, it's gone.

1. It was an okay story but I do enjoy Holmes in all of them.

2. To be set at the earlier times, it sure does seem as if Holmes is already awfully popular. I didn't see a lot of difference except that Watson was still terribly in awe of Holmes.

3. LOL! You'd think they'd learn...

4. Well, there was njo way to figure it out entriely on one's own but still anyone reading would have a pretty good idea what had tranpsired, just not the why.

5. LOL! Almost every line, it seemed.

6. I always squee anyway but I thought Watson seemed awfully sweethearty in this one for some reason.
