Ran the final episode on friday night. It was a little rushed; the 'you can't see the map' combat was confusing and awkward and took longer than I wanted it to. We skipped out on dinner last night to do lawn stuff. I hacked away at the back lawn, got most of it done. I made special efforts around the patio, which was slowly being overgrown. and to get a pile of charcoal that had turned into dust moved. Played out what I think will be the next-to-last segment of the Cressida campaign on friday. I gave the PC's an -ugly- combat puzzle, and it's a testament to thier maturity that I wasn't strung up after the first hour of it. :) They actually figured it out pretty fast, but kept coming up with new ideas and kinda overshot. So I took one of the 5770 graphic cards to work and installed it on my project machine, set it up with the lastest 11.4 drivers, set BOINC to doin' its thing...and poof. Machine reboots after a few minutes. WTF ( Read more... )

I had a thought about Dsukit's bullying last night--specifically her habit of shoving herself between other dogs when there's any excitement. (conflict or mere play) She may have picked this up from ME--that's what I do when dogs get into fracas-es. Maybe. Oh, side note: Lowes' has a nice 40w-replacement LED bulb (7.4w actual power use) for only 10$ right now. Dimmable, even! (I have not tested its dimmability since I've gotten rid of dimmers in the post-incandescent era) If you need some reasonably bright bulbs they're worth taking a look at.
