So, firstly happy belated b-day ivy_pep. I don't know how the day slipped by me!

Okay then. I was going to post as a reply to raencloud's post, but thought it would be worthy to be an entry all my own

It gets a little easier with practice, but I can't lie and say it ever gets entirely better. I understand, lovely lady!

It has been my experience that it helps if you cram in more fun when you do get to see relatives. I was worried at first about spending holidays with her fam instead of mine. Turns out they love me as much as my own family and I feel super welcome and now it's a lot easier.
cherish the times you have with them and enjoy the ones with others. It truly is a win/win.
