I had the best time today.
I trimmed my hedges, uncovered some small boulders and reclaimed ~12sqft from the neighbor. The thing I miss the most due to my desk job is the satisfaction of doing things with my hands, and being able to see the results. -
Hot jelly
Tonight I made habenero jelly and a hot pepper preserve. I played with canning, and now have 4 cans of jelly and 1 can of hot sauce (which is more like pepper salsa, truthfully.) -

I didn’t have to go work today, so I posted in my journal.
Oh wow! A journal post… I don’t even what to looking back into the archives and see how long it has been since this last happened. Life has been good. Full and busy and with periods of stress, but overall quite nice. So I got a letter...
Today I got a letter from the Fed telling me that my economic stimulus check will be mailed or direct deposited in 6 weeks. This was slightly more personalized than the first letter that I got from them. I'm sure they deducted the 83 cents of postage from my huge rebate.... of about $30. Yep, stimulating the economy, five bucks at a time. Go -
5 years is a long time.
It is how long I was in college. And, as of the 13th, it will be how long I've been employeed at my current company. Which is quickly becoming my only company, as the porportional length of my career here drawfs any of my other jobs. I like it here, I plan to stay (at this company) for at least another 5 years.
