OK, so Kat was due to arrive in Charlottesville on 12/18 at around 7pm. So I slept until 4PM so I could stay up and get us a good dinner before she crashed from travel fatigue. OK, so on the 13th I had 3 more days to get ready for Kat's visit. Is it OK to panic now ? There seems to never be enough time to get stuff done. Yesterday I cleaned house, addressed and stamped Christmas cards, wrapped Christmas presents (which will be mailed once Kat gets here with her presents to mail), rode Louise and went grocery shopping. Today dawned clear and pleasantly cool. I got the pets squared away and headed off for the LBA at 9 AM, the tires are properly inflated, the trailer is greased, the new luggage rack is way cool and all in all everything is right with the world. Today was just one of those days. I woke up at 8:30AM to go ride Louise, only it was raining. Raining hard in fact and very foggy. WooHoo ! I am off on vacation for the Laid Back Affair ! From now until next Wednesday afternoon its nothing but ride, ride, ride ! After I clean house, do laundry and pack for the Affair that is. The temperature the last 4 days has been 97 to 99 and the heat index has been over 100. So much for mowing the lawn or washing, polishing and waxing the Harley. I ended up working a night of overtime so my work break was shortened to just one day. Oh well. So much foe getting a whole bunch of little things done. I discovered yet another yellow jacket nest near the others in my yard - this brings the total to 6 nests.
