I know... there is really no relaxed way of writing this because once you have to ballot, regardless of the odds, you gotta have a plan B. Thankfully, we walked out today with a place. Or else, I think I would be frantically hoping that Plan B won't have to ballot.

what if u didn't stay within 1km? then cant ballot is it?

The SG system works based on distance, regardless of the registration phases. So people who live withing 1 km gets priority, then 1-2km and then <2km.

We went for Phase 2C, which was based on distance. So in that category, we had 75 applicants within 1km for 63 slots. So we had to ballot.

Congratulations! Which school did you enroll your boy in? I can imagine the stress - I had to do a mad rush to join the school alumni before 30 Jun to make the cut off date for registration next year. And I am the worst parent in the world to count on for volunteering at the school.

It's sheer madness, I'd tell ya! I've enrolled him in ACS. The alumni route is the safest, I'd find! :) so Claire is registering next year? So soon!
